Bold clashing colours. This gown is not  in or out of fashion. Designed to think past trends and to be worn for special events over and over. It can be easily added too in length or sleeves. If I inspire one person to think twice about throwing out their clothes, this gown has achieved what I hope it would. 

There's so much on line info on how to make clothes technology has never made it easier to be resourceful.

There's something genuine about clothing made by hand. If it took 3 weeks of hand sewing it's a keeper.

Clothes often hold wonderful memories and should be treasured. My grand children may not sew or have any idea of who I was but when they pick this dress up I hope they can see a part of me in what I create.

Made only from scraps and skill. I challenged myself to make an award winning gown just from the scraps I keep, to clothes I no longer wear, and the op shop dresses I find that are damaged but have some thing unique about them. Like hand embroidery I could carefully cut around and appliqué onto my gown.

We could all do with a bit of Greta in us all.

My gown is called Floribunda, flora meaning flower, used as a contemporary embellishment.

 Bunda meaning plentiful, regarding the many different fabrics and techniques used. Embroidery, hand made roulette cords, appliqué, horse hair hem, beading and much more. The gown is kept light for wearability in the tropics.
